Spirit Catholic Radio continues to change in a lot of ways. Recently we installed a new broadcast table in our Lincoln Studio.

The upgrade for KJWM has begun. We have installed a new transmitter at a tower site located south of Wood River.
The tower for KTVG-TV, KJWM will be at the 547' level towards the top.
The new transmitter, a BE FM5C 5,000 watt unit. Electricity has been installed and has been energized. Unlike the transmitter for 102.7 this one does not require a tube, it is completely solid-state.
Here is my son Nathan installing the amplifier modules.
A good ground is very important, we have bonded our ground to the building ground. This will help in saving equipment damage from a lightning strike.

Here at the studio in Omaha there have been some changes too. Both our Production rooms received some attention, by adding custom built racks for equipment I was able to organize the layout thereby making more room for folks to work.

The transmitter is a Broadcast Electronics FM-25T 25kW with FX-50 exciter. The power tube is a 4CX20000A and the driver is solid state.
Transmitter fully assembled after being delivered.

Driver module
Power Supply, operates off 220 Volts.
The driver puts power to the final amplifier tube shown below.
4CX20000A Final power tube in socket.
The power output of this tube is 25,000 watts, we will only use 15,000 watts.
Remote Control interface in the transmitter. This is wired to the Burk ARC-16 remote control unit. This allows control of the transmitter from the studio.
This is the Control Panel.
Behind this panel is a computerized controller that keeps the
transmitter operating within proper parameters. I had just applied power to the transmitter to check voltages.
This is the support for the main transmission line and
the dehydrator unit that keeps the line dry.
Here is our new antenna, all eight (8) bays! Image on the
right is a close-up of one of the bays. These have deicer elements
built in to shed any ice that developes during winter.
This is the license information posted at the site. License for
the studio to transmitter link (STL) and Construction Permit
for the 102.7 upgrade. Remote Control information is also posted.
